Discover_Winter_2014_ebook - page 5

We close out our third year with enthusiasm, as there seems to be
no shortage of interesting people and places to feature in Discover.
Here’s a fun fact: Did you know that 1/3 of all retail business income
is generated at this time of year? And that 2/3 of all purchases of
electronic items are made during the Christmas season? We are big
believers in shopping locally, and so there’s no better time than now
to support your local merchants. Many of them help to support this
magazine, so please return the favor.
There was an old Christmas song, in which a little boy asks Santa to
bring his Daddy an electric train… in this issue, you’ll learn why.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
