The chairman of the Easter Egg Hunt at the town square asks
three different merchants to donate bags of jelly beans to the
cause. From each he requests 10 bags. After the hunt, there are 5
unopened bags of jelly beans left over. Being a good steward, the
chairman decides to return the remaining bags of jelly beans to the
donors. However, he realizes that since the bags are sealed, and
the merchants cannot sell jelly beans from open bags, he will not
be able to refund each merchant equally.
So he decides to return one bag each to the respective donors, and
keeps the remaining two bags for the committee to share.
This means that each merchant donated 9 bags of jelly beans,
which is a total of 27 bags.The committee kept 2 bags of jelly beans
for themselves. 27 + 2 = 29.What happened to the other bag?
